Building collapse in Iran kills 11, many trapped

Kathmandu, May 24. A collapse of a ten-storied building in Abadan, Southwest Iran on Monday has killed 11 people.
The collapse exposed the building’s blocks and beams. The Metropol building had two towers, one of which was already built and other was under construction.
Further, on Tuesday, state media reported that there must have been around 50 people in the building at the time of collapse. Rescue teams have been working to find people trapped under the rubble. Officials say that 39 people were injured.
Moreover, locals demanded the arrest of the mayor. Police on Tuesday arrested mayor Hossein Hamidpour and nine others with connection to the case.
