Kathmandu, June 21. Property worth over Rs 20 lakhs has been reduced to ashes when the fire engulfed a restaurant in Janakpurdham of Dhanusa district.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Pradip Bahadur Chhetri informed that the ‘Bansbari Restaurant and Café’ (which was made up of vernacular bamboo items) Sub-metropolis-4 caught a huge fire this morning.
A team of firefighters, security personnel, and villagers worked together for an hour to douse the fire. A local eyewitness told reporters that bamboo furniture inside the cafe was completely destroyed by the fire.
“Although it is suspected that the fire might have started due to a short circuit, the cause is not ascertained yet,” Chhetri added.
