54 percent of US Citizens living under high risk of Omicron BA.5 Subvariant

Kathmandu, July 18. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention(CDC) has released results of a latest study on COVID-19 in the United States.

According to the new data, 54 percent of the population in the United States currently reside in areas with high tranmission risks of Omicron BA.5 Subvariant.

The Wall Street Journal wrote on Sunday that 35 percent of U.S. counties have high levels of the new variant, a 14.8-percent increase from the previous week. 

To limit the spread of the highly contagious BA.5 variant, the CDC has urged people to wear masks when in indoor public spaces.
