Kathmandu, September 16. The United Kingdom(UK) has denied permission for the Chinese delegation to attend the Queen’s Lying-in-State at Westminster Abbey on September 19, according to UK media reports on Friday.

Further, the access is denied due to Chinese sanctions against five British members of Parliament and two peers. China took the step because it was accused for mistreatment against the Uyghur Muslims.

Moreover, media reports claim that China will have a presence at the funeral, but will not be allowed inside the Parliament building.

The countries which UK has diplomatic relations should be invited to state funerals. Therefore, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) had invited Chinese President Xi Jinping. But, sanctioned MPs raised concern of the Chinese leader being invited.

While China denies allegations of mistreatment against Uyghur Muslims, it is accused of torture and abuse of them in camps.
