Sita Dahal, Spouse of PM Dahal, Passes Away at 69

Kathmandu, July 12. Sita Dahal, spouse of CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has passed away today at the age of 69.

According to Prof Dr Yubaraj Sharma, PM Dahal’s personal physician, Sita Dahal died at 8.33 am while under treatment at the Norvic International Airport at Thapathali. She had been suffering from Parkinson’s disease and had been ill for an extended period. After developing complications in her health, she was admitted to Norvic Hospital.

In light of her demise, Dahal’s mortal remains will be kept at the party central office at Perisdanda, Koteshwor, for individuals to pay their last respects. The body will be available for homage from 11 am to 1.00 pm, following which it will be cremated at the Pashupati Aryaghat crematorium at 2.00 pm, as confirmed by PM Dahal’s Secretariat.
