Kathmandu, July 28: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ expressed his views on the tradition of demanding resignation for political reasons from the Prime Minister, Minister for Home Affairs, and Minister for Finance, stating that it was not a good practice.

While speaking at a press meet in the VVIP room of the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu upon his return from Italy, PM Dahal commented on the major opposition’s obstruction in parliament, demanding the resignation of the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister. He stated that such actions were not conducive to a healthy political environment.

Dahal asserted that he would further clarify his stance after discussing the matter with the Deputy Prime Minister and other concerned ministers. He emphasized, “Unilaterally demanding resignations without providing an opportunity for furnishing clarifications is not a good tradition.”

During his participation in the UN Food Systems Summit +2 Stocktaking Moment organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization from June 24 to July 28, the PM highlighted the importance of Nepal’s presence in the event. He remarked that the Summit played a crucial role in establishing Nepal’s standing and recognition in the international community.

On a different note, Prime Minister Dahal shared that the government had taken necessary measures to control the rapid spread of lumpy skin disease in cattle. He informed that millions of cattle were administered vaccines against the viral disease as part of the efforts to address the issue.
