Kathmandu, Dec 26: Lalitpur City FC secured a spot in the second qualifier of the Nepal Super League (NSL) football tournament by defeating Kathmandu Razors with a commanding scoreline of 3-0 in the eliminator held on Tuesday.

Nigerian player Emah Ezekiel played a pivotal role in Lalitpur’s victory, scoring two goals, while French player Papa Ibou Kebe added one to the tally. Lalitpur established a 2-0 lead in the first half and sealed the win with an additional goal in the second half.

Ezekiel opened the scoring for Lalitpur in the 36th minute of the first half, providing the team with an early lead. Kebe doubled the advantage in the 44th minute, securing a comfortable position for Lalitpur. In the 52nd minute of the second half, Ezekiel extended the lead by scoring his second goal with a well-executed header.

With this impressive victory, Lalitpur City FC has advanced to the second qualifier of the current NSL season. The upcoming clash will see Lalitpur City facing Pokhara Thunders in the second qualifier. The winner of this match, scheduled for Thursday, will compete against Dhangadhi FC in the final for the coveted title.

Meanwhile, Kathmandu Razors, the defending champions of the Nepal Super League, concluded their journey in the tournament after a defeat in the eliminator. The final match of this season is slated to take place next Saturday, adding to the anticipation and excitement of football enthusiasts.
