Kathmandu, Jan 25: The Kathmandu Metropolitan Municipality has issued a directive to schools within the metropolis, urging them not to release information regarding student admissions for the upcoming academic session 2081.

In a notice issued today, Metropolitan Education Officer Sitaram Koirala conveyed the instruction, emphasizing that it is not the appropriate time for schools to publish notices related to student admissions.

The notice explicitly states, “It is advised not to publish any notification for admission of students other than the time of commencement of the academic session.”

Koirala cited complaints received by the education office, indicating that certain schools within the metropolitan area have already disseminated admission notices for the academic session 2081 through online platforms and various other channels. He highlighted that any school found publishing information regarding student admissions outside the designated timeframe will face consequences in accordance with the Metropolitan Education Act, 2075, and existing laws.

The Metropolitan Education Officer urged educational institutions to adhere to the prescribed schedules for announcing admissions, ensuring compliance with regulations to maintain the integrity of the admission process. The municipality’s action aims to streamline the admission procedure and uphold the standards outlined in the relevant educational legislation.
