Kathmandu, Apr 23: President Ramchandra Paudel is currently engaged in discussions with Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar at the Presidential Office Sheetal Niwas. The meeting, which commenced in the afternoon, follows a warm welcome extended by President Paudel upon the Emir’s arrival at Sheetal Niwas earlier in the day.

Accompanying President Paudel in the meeting are Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayankaji Shrestha, as well as Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation Minister Shakti Bahadur Basnet, among other officials. The discussions, held at the Gandaki Hall of Sheetal Niwas, are expected to cover a range of topics, including diplomatic relations, bilateral interests, and mutual cooperation.

Emir Al Thani’s visit to Nepal commenced with his arrival at Sheetal Niwas from Tribhuvan International Airport, where he was greeted by President Paudel, Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav, and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’. Following the meeting, President Paudel is set to host a dinner in honor of Emir Al Thani.

Tomorrow, Emir Al Thani is scheduled to engage in bilateral talks with Prime Minister Dahal. The visit comes at the invitation of President Paudel, marking a significant moment in the diplomatic relations between Nepal and Qatar.
