Kathmandu, May 15: The Nepal Cricket Association (CAN) has lifted the suspension of cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane, following his acquittal by the Patan High Court on Wednesday. Sandeep had been facing charges of rape and was previously found guilty by the District Court of Kathmandu, which sentenced him to eight years in prison, leading to his suspension from all domestic and international cricket activities.

The High Court, however, reversed the district court’s decision and acquitted Lamichhane, prompting CAN to lift his suspension. With this development, CAN is also making preparations to send Sandeep to the United States to participate in the ICC T20 World Cup.
