Putin Meets Kim Jong Un in North Korea, Lauds Support for Russian Policies

Kathmandu, Jun 19: Russian President Vladimir Putin, currently visiting North Korea, has met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. During their meeting, Putin expressed his appreciation for North Korea’s consistent support for Russian policies, including its stance on the Ukraine war. This information was reported by Russian media.

“We greatly appreciate its systematic and permanent support for Russian policy, including the Ukrainian issue,” Putin remarked during his discussion with Kim Jong Un. Following their meeting in Pyongyang, Putin announced plans for bilateral cooperation grounded in “the principles of equality and respect for mutual interests.”

Putin highlighted the longstanding relationship between the two nations, stating, “Russia and North Korea have been bound by strong friendship and close neighborly relations for many decades.”

The strengthening ties between Russia and North Korea have raised concerns in both Seoul and Washington, given the geopolitical implications of such an alliance.
