Bodies of Missing Bus Driver and Co-Driver Found in Trishuli River

Chitwan, Jul 16: The bodies of the driver and co-driver of the Ganapati Deluxe bus, who went missing in the Trishuli river after a landslide on the Narayangadh-Muglin road last Friday, have been found.

The bodies were discovered at the Gandak barrage bridge, 103 km downstream from the incident site. According to the District Administration Office Chitwan, the families identified the bodies on Tuesday.

The driver, Kishore Kumar Choudhary, 35, from Bara Municipality Ward No. 6, Rautahat, and the co-driver, Rishi Kumar Singh, 48, from Chandrapur Municipality 10, were on the Ganapati Deluxe bus No. 03-011 B 2595, traveling from Kathmandu to Gaur.

So far, 17 bodies have been recovered, with nine identified and eight yet to be identified. The condition of 45 passengers remains unknown. The search for the two buses that fell into the Trishuli river continues, five days after the incident.
