Nepali National Women’s Volleyball Team to Host Russian Team for Friendly Matches in Kathmandu

Kathmandu, Jul 20: Kathmandu is set to witness two friendly matches between the Nepali National Women’s Volleyball Team and the Russian Volleyball Team. The Nepal Volleyball Association announced this event during a press conference held in Kathmandu on Saturday. The matches are scheduled for July 6 and 7 at the National Sports Council (Rakhep) in Tripureshwar.

For these friendly matches, Nepal has named a 14-member squad led by captain Aruna Shahi. Jitendra Bahadur Chand, President of the Nepal Volleyball Association, expressed that these friendly matches will further enhance the relationship between Nepal and Russia. He emphasized that such international matches are crucial for strengthening and gaining experience for Nepal’s national volleyball team.

Captain Aruna Shahi shared her thoughts, stating that playing against the Russian team will provide the Nepali team with valuable learning opportunities and experience. The anticipation is shared by the Russian volleyball team representatives, who conveyed their excitement for the upcoming matches against Nepal.

These friendly matches are expected to foster camaraderie between the two nations and contribute to the growth and development of women’s volleyball in Nepal.
