Victims Identified in Tragic Bus Accident in Tanahun; 27 Killed

Damauli, Aug 23: The identities of the deceased in the tragic bus accident that occurred this afternoon in Ainpahara, Ambukhaireni Rural Municipality-2 of Tanahun, have been confirmed. The accident, which took place on the Prithvi Highway, claimed the lives of 27 individuals when a bus with an Indian registration plate (UP 53 FT 7623), traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu, plunged into the Marsyangdi River.

The deceased have been identified as 16-year-old Suhas Rai, 16-year-old Pari Bharate, 10-year-old Pari Bharate, 60-year-old Salba Bharande Bharate, 50-year-old Nilima Jaude, 42-year-old Sarla Rani, 44-year-old Pankaj Bhangade, 50-year-old Sandeep Rajaram Sarade, 57-year-old Nilima Jhande, and 55-year-old Tulsiram Taide. Others include 40-year-old Ganesh Manande, 43-year-old Pallade Sarade, 45-year-old Anita Patel, an unidentified 50-year-old woman, 52-year-old Bharti Jaude, 51-year-old Rohini Jaude, 60-year-old Suloma Bharde, 45-year-old Subas Rane, 50-year-old Prakash Nathkoti, 35-year-old Leena Bharde, and several others, as confirmed by Deputy Superintendent of Police, Deepak KC, of the Gandaki State Police Office.

Among those injured are 60-year-old Sunil Jhande, 45-year-old Bharti Patel, 32-year-old Avinas Patel, 45-year-old Rekha Koti, and many others. The injured have been airlifted to Kathmandu for further treatment.
