Home Minister Emphasizes International Cooperation to Tackle Organized Crime and Cyber Crime

Kathmandu, Sept 7: Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar has highlighted the importance of coordination and international cooperation among law enforcement agencies to address the growing challenges posed by organized crime, cybercrime, and terrorism.

Speaking at the centenary celebration of Interpol at the Nepal Police Headquarters, the Home Minister stated that international police collaboration is crucial in combating criminal activities. He emphasized the need for sharing good practices, expertise, and information at the global level to effectively control such crimes. “A united effort is required to ensure a peaceful, safe, and fearless society,” he added.

Home Secretary Gokarnamani Duwadi praised the Nepal Police for their commendable role in maintaining law and order, stressing that the event demonstrated a shared commitment to cooperation among law enforcement bodies. He assured that the Ministry of Home Affairs will continue to strengthen security agencies to face evolving challenges.

Additionally, Seva Lamsal, Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized the need for joint efforts to combat organized crime, cybercrime, and terrorism.

Inspector General of Police Basanta Bahadur Kunwar remarked that international cooperation is essential in bringing criminals to justice, stating that complex crimes can be tackled effectively through mutual support and collaboration.
