‘Bijuli Kali’ Crowned Winner of Elephant Beauty Contest at Sauraha Festival

Bharatpur, Dec 27: The 25-year-old elephant Bijuli Kali has won the prestigious elephant beauty contest held on the second day of the 18th Elephant and Tourism Festival in Sauraha, Chitwan.

Bijuli Kali emerged victorious over four other competitors, scoring 222 out of 300 points, as confirmed by Rishi Tiwari, coordinator of the sports and artist management committee of the festival. The elephant is affiliated with the United Elephant Operation Cooperative Society.

The contest featured participants Punamali, Puja Kali, Champakali, and Ektakali. Judges evaluated the elephants on criteria such as behavior, cleanliness, gait, makeup, eye beauty, body structure, obedience, nail condition, and overall appearance.

Winners of the beauty contest and other festival competitions will receive awards on the final day of the event, Poush 15.
