SpaceX to Launch Upgraded Starship Rocket on Seventh Test Flight

Los Angeles, Jan 4: SpaceX is gearing up for the seventh flight test of its Starship rocket, featuring a significant upgrade aimed at improving reliability and performance.

The test will debut enhancements to the upper stage, including a redesigned propulsion system. Key upgrades include a 25% increase in propellant volume, vacuum jacketing of the feedline, a new fuel feedline system for the Raptor vacuum engine, and an improved propulsion avionics control system.

As part of the mission, Starship will deploy 10 Starlink simulators in space.

Starship, which consists of the Starship spacecraft and the Super Heavy rocket, plays a crucial role in NASA’s Artemis 3 mission. Scheduled for 2026, Artemis 3 will use Starship to carry astronauts on the final leg of their journey to the moon.
