Nepali Taekwondo Referee Raju Chhetri to Officiate at World Ranking (G2) 2025 US Open

Kathmandu, Feb 14 : Renowned Nepali Taekwondo international referee Raju Chhetri has been selected to officiate at the prestigious World Ranking (G2) 2025 US Open, scheduled to take place from February 14 to 16, 2025, in Reno, Nevada, USA.

The event, organized by World Taekwondo in collaboration with USA Taekwondo and the USA Olympic Committee, will be held at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center.

The competition will witness the participation of approximately 2,500 athletes, including Olympians and world champions, making it one of the most significant Taekwondo events globally.

Chhetri, a seasoned referee, has previously officiated at several high-profile tournaments, including the 2024 US Open Taekwondo Championship in Reno, the World Ranking (G1) Kimunyong Cup in Korea, the 2023 US Open World Ranking G2 in Las Vegas, the Japan Open in Osaka, and the 2023 Seongnam Open in Korea.

A former president of the Nepal Taekwondo Association (NRA) and a gold medalist at the 2008 Korea Open World Ranking (G2) international competition, Chhetri has made remarkable contributions to the sport. In recognition of his dedication, the South Korean government honored him with honorary citizenship in 2013.
