Sherpa Support Foundation provides food supplies to 450 tourism workers
Kathmandu, May 28. The US-based Sherpa Support Foundation and Kathmandu-based Nepal Mountain Sherpa Foundation, collectively distributed food relief materials to 450 tourism workers in Nepal.
Marking the special occasion of Buddha Jayanti, the organizations handed over 450 packages of pandemic supplies to trekking guides, climbing guides, and porters. The event was organized near the Bouddha Stupa at Kharibot, Kapan. Each package contained 25 kg of rice, 5 kg of pulses, 5 kg of flour, 2 liters of cooking oil, and one kg of salt.
The president of the Nepal Mountain Sherpa Foundation, Pasang sherpa Pinasa told DCNepal that the organizations are happy that they could do something for the tourism sector. “The warm smiles of the receivers charged us with more energy” he added.
Pasang further said, ‘I feel very happy by seeing happy faces of Sherpa guides and porters after receiving food supplies.’ For relief distribution other team members Tukti sherpa, Nima sherpa, and Sonam sherpa have voluntarily support to foundation to accomplished the relief distribution event even in lockdown.
