Kathmandu, May 30. As India is fighting the deadly second wave of coronavirus, Kenya has donated India with Kenyan tea, coffee and groundnuts. While many countries around the world are providing with medical supplies, Kenya decided to provide refreshments for the frontline workers.
The East African country issued a statement on Friday that said, “Kenya, however, identified the special group – frontline health care givers. These heroes/heroines are undertaking a noble duty of serving COVID-19 patients for very long hours or even days without any break.” They added that the donation will help the health workers take a refreshing break with Kenyan tea or coffee.
Ambassador Willy Bett handed over the package of humanitarian aid from the Government of Kenya to the Government of India, which was received by Homi Khusrokhan, vice chairman of the Indian Red Cross Society’s Maharashtra Branch in Mumbai.
The donation included six tonnes of tea, three tonnes of coffee and three tonnes of groundnuts.
