When is it going to stop raining? Meteorologist talks about weather in Nepal

Kathmandu, June 19. Shanti Kandel, a Meteorologist from the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said that the monsoon is likely to remain for a few more days.
Kandel told RSS, “Since the monsoon entered in an active state this year, its influence will remain for some more days. Therefore, the trend of rainfall will continue for a few more days.”
Kandel also said that this year, the monsoon became active three days before the usual days. The intensity of monsoon winds indicate that the rainfall shall continue on Sunday and Monday.
Official observations suggest that the weather all over the country is generally cloudy, whereas larger areas of the hilly belt are experiencing light rainfall.
For Sunday afternoon, the Department has forecasted thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in few places of Province ONE, Bagmati, Lumbini and Gandaki provinces. The hilly areas of these provinces are at high risk for mudslides and landslides.
