Nepal Airlines flying to China for “Vero Cell”
Kathmandu, July 8. Today, a Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) wide-body A330 aircraft is flying to China to bring Vero Cell anti-covid vaccines purchased by Nepal from the Chinese Government.
Dr Krishna Prasad Poudel, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population said that three flights are scheduled till July 23 to transfer all supplies of vaccinations obtained from China through government-to-government (G2G) channels.
The first, second, and third shipments are scheduled to arrive on July 9, 16, and 23.
So far, Nepal has imported nearly 43 lakh doses of several vaccines. About 26 lakh people have received the first shot whereas 8.5 lakh have received the second/final dose.
The government plans to vaccinate at least 2 crore people by the end of this year.
