Nepal to administer 15 lakh doses of “Moderna” to Children aged 12-17

Kathmandu, December 9. The Nepali government’s Department of Health Services has announced that the country has received nearly 1.5 million doses of Moderna vaccines from COVAX.

Department’s Logistic Chief Surendra Chaurasiya told reporters that 14 lakh 97 thousand doses of Moderna vaccine has arrived in Kathmandu. The shipment arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport on a cargo flight of Qatar Airways.

“The Moderna vaccine would be administered to children aged between 12-17 years,” Chaurasiya confirmed.

Chaurasiya also confirmed that an additional 2 million doses of Moderna vaccines will arrive on December 12. He also said that the government is coordinating to purchase 4 million doses of Moderna and 6 million doses of Pfizer vaccines by the end of December.
