Kathmandu, December 21. 65 per cent of the expansion project at the Beni-Jomsom road section has been completed.
Section’s Chief Jagat Prajapati told reporters that the Beni Jomsom stretch of the road is regarded as Gandaki Province’s lifeline. Therefore, the completion of the expansion phase will allow cars to run frequently during the upcoming monsoons.
Similarly, 85 per cent of the expansion and blacktopping work on the Jomsom-Korala road stretch has also been completed. “We are currently replacing temporary bailey bridges with motor bridges,” Prajapati noted.
Prajapati also confirmed that the road authority is conducting a need assessment to propose additional bridges in the road sections.
