Cambodia and Malaysia to enhance cooperation

Kathmandu, February 24. Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen and his visiting Malaysian counterpart Ismail Sabri Yaakob have met and vowed to enhance bilateral ties and enhance cooperation in the post pandemic era.

The talks took place at Peace Palace in Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia.

During a joint press conference, Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that the two countries will be cooperating in various sectors which includes trade and investment, defense and security, tourism, education, labor, and the post-pandemic economic recovery.

The two countries also seek to cooperate in sectors of human resource, capital, digital and green economy.

Malaysian prime minister said that they will open their borders for international travelers in near future if high vaccination rates are achieved. He also supported for Cambodia’s ASEAN chairmanship in 2022.

Malaysian prime minister Sabri Yaakob is in Cambodia for a two-day official visit, since Wednesday.
