Japanese Defense Minister Kishi and Philippine counterpart Lorenzana meet

Kathmandu, April 7. Japanese Defense Minister Nobuo Kishi and his Philippine counterpart Delfin Lorenzana has signed an agreement for joint security cooperation on Thursday.

The two discussed matters of Ukraine and increasing involvement of China over the Indo-Pacific. Further, the agreement will allow both the countries to hold joint exercises. Matters of defense and technology equipment were also agreed upon.

Moreover, both leaders acknowledged the importance of maintaining a free and open Indo-Pacific.

The talks were held two days ahead of the “two-plus-two” security talks.
