Kathmandu, April 20. A British judge has approved for the extradition of Julian Assange to the United States (US) on Wednesday.
The case has now handed over to UK’s interior minister Priti Patel, who will decide on the extradition.
However, the decision does not exhaust Assange’s legal avenues. He can challenge the decision by a judicial review. A judge examines the legality of a public body’s decision in a judicial review.
His lawyer has four weeks to make submissions to Patel.
Assange, founder of WikiLeaks has been avoiding trials in the US, as he faces charges of publishing secret files of the US. He is wanted in the US on 18 criminal charges, which include breaking a spying law.
