India distributes 21,000 crore rupees to 10 crore farmers

Kathmandu May 31. The government of India has released the 11th installment of the “Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi” scheme.

While attending “Garib Kalyan Sammelan’ at Ridge Maidan in Shimla on Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed Rs 21,000 crore to the initiative.

PM Modi also met with public representatives and farmers, listening to their opinions on the government’s welfare programs.

The event also marked the eighth anniversary of the Narendra Modi-led BJP central government.

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme was announced by Piyush Goyal during the 2019 Interim Union Budget of India. It aims to improve the lives of India’s 10 crore farmers by distributing financial assistance.

Under the scheme, each farmer will receive minimum income assistance of Rs 6,000 per year.
