Reorganization of the cabinet most probably after Dashain
Kathmandu. Nepal Communist Party (NCP) Chairs PM KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ are trying to maintain balance within the party and making the government more effective for which they are holding talks almost everyday in the recent days.
The report prepared by the task force set up to solve internal disputes of the party is at its final stage of execution. Hence, the party chair duo have been discussing on the reshuffling of the cabinet.
At the secretariat meeting conducted in Parisdanda on September 20, PM Oli had proposed three different alternatives regarding the reorganization of the cabinet of ministers.
The meeting had given a green signal for the restructuring of the government. PM Oli had proposed for the dismissal of all ministers appointed two years ago and change the whole set of ministers or replace them according to their work efficiency. The NCP Chair duo are having deliberations on the modality to opt for.
At present, two ministries lack ministers and PM KP Sharma Oli plans to address those vacancies with the reorganization of the cabinet. He had made indications towards that during the cabinet meeting on Thursday.
News source in proximity with the PM says that the PM believes the reshuffling is necessary at present to create balance within the party rather than acting upon the efficiency of the ministers.
The source claims that it is almost improbable to replace the whole set of ministers before Dashain. Some changes can be made in the cabinet in the meantime, however.
