Kamindu Mendis Sets New Record in Test Cricket

Kathmandu. Sept 26: Sri Lankan batsman Kamindu Mendis has set a new record in Test cricket by scoring a half-century in the ongoing second Test against New Zealand. This marks the eighth consecutive half-century in the eight Test matches he has played, a feat never achieved before in Test cricket.

Kamindu remains unbeaten with 51 runs on the first day. Sri Lanka, after winning the toss, posted a total of 306 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. Angelo Mathews is also playing strong with 78 runs, while Dinesh Chandimal scored a century with 116 runs, and Dimuth Karunaratne contributed 46 runs before being dismissed.

Sri Lanka, who won the first match of the 2-match Test series, has made a promising start in the second match as well.
