Kathmandu Gurkhaz Secure 18-Run Victory Against Lumbini Lions
Kathmandu, Dec 11: Kathmandu Gurkhaz claimed their second win in the Nepal Premier League (NPL), defeating Lumbini Lions by 18 runs on Wednesday at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.
Defending a modest total of 104 runs, Kathmandu bowled out Lumbini for just 85 runs in 19.2 overs. Sandeep Jora top-scored for Lumbini with 26 runs, while Unmukt Chand and Surya Tamang added 14 and 11 runs, respectively. None of the other batsmen managed to reach double figures.
Kathmandu captain Karan KC was instrumental in the victory, taking 4 wickets. Dipesh Kandel and Gerhard Erasmus supported with 3 and 2 wickets, respectively.
Earlier, batting first after winning the toss, Kathmandu were bowled out for 103 runs in 19.2 overs. Bhim Sarki led the scoring with 31 runs off 40 balls, including one boundary. Dan Dwathwaite and Pratik Shrestha contributed 21 and 20 runs, respectively, while Stephen Skenazy managed 13 runs.
For Lumbini Lions, Saad Bin Jaffer took three wickets, while Abhishesh Gautam and Ramon Simmonds claimed two each. Surya Tamang and Vivek Yadav chipped in with one wicket apiece.
