Minimum Temperatures Drop Below Freezing in Four Locations Across Nepal

Kathmandu, Dec 19: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that minimum temperatures in four locations across Nepal have dropped below freezing today.
According to meteorologist Sanjeev Adhikari, while temperatures are slightly higher compared to recent days, Jumla, Jomsom, Jiri, and Lukla recorded sub-zero temperatures.
- Jumla: -5.5°C
- Jomsom: -2.5°C
- Jiri: -0.7°C
- Lukla: -1°C
Earlier, on Mangsir 29, Jumla experienced its lowest temperature of the season at -7.2°C, while Kathmandu recorded its lowest at 2°C. However, Kathmandu’s minimum temperature today stood at 4.8°C.
Other recorded temperatures include:
- Birendranagar: 5.6°C
- Nepalgunj: 10.2°C
- Bhairahawa: 10°C
- Pokhara: 8°C
- Biratnagar: 10.5°C
- Taplejung: 6.5°C
Despite slightly warmer minimum temperatures, the cold continues to persist across the country.
