Foreign Minister Dr. Arju Rana Departs for Oman

Kathmandu, Feb 14: Foreign Minister Dr. Arju Rana Deuba left for Oman today, leading a four-member Nepali delegation to attend the 8th Indian Ocean Conference in Muscat, Oman, scheduled for February.
The Foreign Minister was seen off at Tribhuvan International Airport by Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai and other foreign ministry officials.
Invited by Omani Foreign Minister Syed Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood al-Busaidi, Minister Rana will represent Nepal at the conference. He is set to address a session on strengthening the Global South’s voice.
During his visit, Minister Rana may hold bilateral talks with Oman’s Foreign Minister, Energy and Minerals Minister, and other representatives of relevant ministries. Several agreements in areas of mutual cooperation are expected to be signed.
Additionally, Minister Dr. Rana is scheduled to hold a virtual meeting with Nepali Ambassadors and Heads of Diplomatic Missions to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in Muscat. He is expected to return to Nepal in February.
