Global Stock Markets Drop Amid US Recession Worries

Kathmandu, March 11: Global stock markets fell sharply due to rising concerns over a possible US economic recession. Asian markets also reacted negatively after US President Donald Trump acknowledged that his trade policies might affect the economy. When asked about a potential downturn, he described the US economy as being in a “transition phase” but did not provide further clarity.
Despite reassurances from top officials urging investors to remain calm, major Asian indices opened lower on Tuesday. Japan’s Nikkei 225 dropped, South Korea’s Kospi fell, and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index also declined. Market analysts say investor uncertainty remains high as global trade tensions continue to impact economic growth.
