Kathmandu, Jul 11: US President Donald Trump has announced a new 35 percent tariff on goods imported from Canada, effective from August 1.
In a statement posted on his social media platform, Trump said the tariff will apply to all Canadian goods entering the United States. This move marks a significant increase from the current 25 percent tariff already imposed on some Canadian products.
Trump did not provide detailed reasons for the new tariff, but it adds to the growing list of trade restrictions his administration has introduced in recent months.
