Four Killed in Violence at Rastriya Citizens Party Rally in Gopalgunj; Curfew Imposed

Kathmandu, Jul 17: At least four people lost their lives during violent clashes at a rally organized by the Rastriya Citizens Party (NCP) in Gopalgunj on Wednesday, prompting swift responses from both the interim government and political parties.

According to BBC Bengal, the interim government has issued a statement promising that legal action will be taken against those responsible for the violence.

NCP convenor Nahid Islam has demanded that authorities arrest the perpetrators within 24 hours, warning of further political action if justice is delayed.

In response to the incident, the CPN (Maoist) has announced a nationwide protest to be held on Thursday, condemning the violence and demanding accountability.

To maintain order, a curfew has been imposed in Gopalgunj until 6 PM on Thursday, with security personnel deployed across the city to prevent further unrest.
