PM Karki Says Duties Must Not Be Neglected While Exercising Rights
Kathmandu, Jan 19: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said that no one should neglect their duties while exercising their rights.
Speaking at the Tamang Cultural Festival and greetings exchange program organized by various organizations including Nepal Tamang Ghedung on the occasion of Sonam Lhosar at Tundikhel, Kathmandu on Monday, Prime Minister Karki said the core social values of Nepali society should also be reflected in political conduct.
“The culture of putting the collective interest above personal interest is an integral part of our social life. Contributing to society despite difficulties is a basic value of Nepali society. This value and culture must also be reflected in our political behavior,” she said.
She also stressed the need to preserve traditional knowledge, skills and culture and pass them on to the younger generation.
“It is necessary to protect traditional knowledge, skills and culture and hand them over to the new generation. Sonam Lhosar is celebrated not only in Nepal but across the world, and it has helped promote our cultural identity globally,” she said.
Prime Minister Karki added that the government is committed to the promotion and protection of Nepal’s languages and cultural heritage.
