Kathmandu, March 23: Sitar player Himalayan Sitar has released a song called ‘Vedanshi’. Vedanshi, which was released on Wednesday, is the first song from the album ‘Shruti’, said sitar player Himalayan Sitar. Vedanshi is a fusion of sitar, saxophone and flute. In the song called ‘Vedanshi’, Himalayan Sitar has collaborated with Chilean band ‘Cero Duo’.

In the 7-minute long Vedanshi, Himalayan Sitar is accompanied by Chilean musician Moa Edmonds Guevara on flute and Tomas Carrasco Guevarantes on saxophone. The public song is available on Himalayan Sitar’s official YouTube channel, Spotify and other digital platforms.

The real name of the ‘Himalayan Sitar’ from Jhapa, who is pursuing his Masters in Ethnomusicology at the Department of Music of Kathmandu University, is Uttam Ghosh. He wants to introduce Nepali classical music to the world through the Himalayan Sitar.
