Indian Ambassador meets Tourism Minister Yogesh Bhattarai

Kathmandu. Indian Ambassador to Nepal H. E. Vinay Mohan Kwatra paid a courtesy call on Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai today. During the meeting at the Ministry, Minister Bhattarai and Ambassador Kwatra discussed tourism, aviation and culture between the two countries.

With regards to the airspace, they conversed about the flight entry from Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj and Mahendranagar checkpoints. They also talked about speeding up flights between Kathmandu and various cities in India, which were closed due to COVID-19.

Similarly, discussions were held on developing Pashupati, Janakpur and Lumbini as special religious and cultural destinations, as in the field of culture the locations are of great value to both countries. During the meeting, both Minister Bhattarai and Ambassador Kwatra expressed their commitment to implement the concept of the ‘Ramayana Circuit’ as soon as possible.

Minister Bhattarai expressed his gratitude towards the Government of India for its support in the fields of civil aviation, tourism, and culture in Nepal. Stating that the Government of India is positive towards the further development of the religious and cultural centers of Nepal, Ambassador Kwatra also expressed the commitment of the Indian Government to assist in uplifting Nepal’s tourism sector that is affected by COVID-19.
