Terrorist attack in Vienna leaves four dead, 15 injured
Kathmandu. At least 15 people are injured and four killed in a terrorist attack in Vienna, Austria. Armed gunmen opened fire in six different locations across Vienna. Police have shot one gunman, arrested one more and are looking for another, who is at large.
Interior Minister Karl Nehammer said, “This is the hardest day for Austria in several years. We’re dealing with a terror attack the severity of which we haven’t experienced in Austria for a long time.” The attack was called a “repulsive terror attack” by Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz.
According to the latest reports in The Guardian, the attacks started at 8 pm local time on Monday. Police have advised people not to post pictures of the attacks on social media and asked them to stay away from the center of Vienna.
Leaders around the world have come together to show support and solidarity for Austria. Australian Prime minister Scott Morrison said “they pray and stand firm with their Austrian friends”. US President Donald Trump told that “these evil attacks against innocent people must stop.’
