Humla bracing up against COVID-19

Kathnmandu. Schools in Humla have been closed from today till further notice, fearing spread of corona infection. Likewise, entry to the district from outside has also been restricted.
A meeting of the District COVID-19 Crisis Management Committee on Wednesday has made the decisions.
51 students and 5 others of the Mahabauddha Secondary Schools in Namkha Rural Municipality tested positive for the coronavirus in the last five days, forcing the committee to take the decision.
The mobility of people in Namkha and Simkot rural municipality is suspended for three days and strict monitoring is being observed at the border check points.
Chief District Officer of Humla Chiranjivi Giri shared his plans as to demand for two more ventilators from the provincial government as the existing two ventilators in the district were insufficient. He is also requesting the Karnali Province government to provide helicopter service as per need to carry the patients to better care facilities, he said
Similarly, the Health Service Office, Humla, would increase COVID-19 tests and conduct effective contact tracing in all seven local levels in the district.
