NC district presidents asked to send active membership details
Kathmandu. Nepali Congress (NC) has directed the district presidents of the party on November 17 to submit the details of new active members and their renewal within mid-December.
It had been decided on November 13 by the meeting of the NC Central Working Committee meeting for the preparation of the 14th general convention, NC central office chief secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel said.
The district working committees should submit the details including documents and membership fees by completing all processes as per the party statute. The membership distribution should comply with the circular issued by the center, otherwise, the membership and the list of active members submitted to the center would not be accepted, chief secretary of the party said.
The number of NC active members is about 500,000 currently. The party stated that the number of active members could double up after new distribution, renewal and providing membership to those joining from other political parties.
The 14th general convention of the NC is being conducted from coming February 19 to 22, as has been announced earlier.
