Kathmandu. Joint General Secretary of the Nepali Congress (NC), Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, has explained that the meeting between Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba was not to discuss power sharing.

At a press conference organized by Nepal Press Union, Kapilvastu, at Taulihawa on Monday, NC leader Mahat told that NC was not in favor of power sharing and that it would go according to the mandate provided by the public.

He blamed the government for not being able to provide health services to people during the pandemic.

Meanwhile, inaugurating the Satya Sai Park in Shankhamul on Monday, NC leader and former Deputy Prime Minister  Prakash Man Singh has stated that the NC will continue to remain in opposition in the Parliament.

Similar to Dr Mahat’s statement, leader Singh noted that NC President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s latest meeting with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli could not be interpreted as a power-sharing ploy.
