Dozen SSPs contending for seven DIG positions in APF
Kathmandu. The positions of seven DIGs are being vacant in the Armed Police Force (APF) Nepal after Dec 12. A dozen SSPs are vying for the seven positions in the APF.
At the establishment of the APF Nepal in 2001, incumbent DIGs Nagendra Thapa, Rajendra Basnet, Krishna Bhakta Brahmacharya, Hari Shankar Budhathoki, Harischandra Adhikari and Kabindraman Shrestha had shifted their service from the Nepali Army to the APF. They are all retiring on Dec 12 at the completion of their service period. They will all have served their 30 years in the security service then.
One DIG position has remained vacant for a long time.
Since SSP Abhi Kumar Chhetri has already been handed the responsibility as Acting DIG, his promotion is taken as confirmed. Others eligible for the positions according to seniority are Shambhu Subedi, Ganesh Bahadur Thada Magar, Durga Prasad Bhattarai and Kamal Giri.
Kul Bahadur Nembang, Kalidas Dhaubaji, Kumar Neupane, Bidur Khadka, Bhesh Bahadur Shah, Pradip Kumar Pal, Lakshman Bahadur Singh and Krishna Raj Pathak are probable candidates for the promotion.
