India to launch COVID-19 vaccine within next few weeks
Kathmandu. Indian Prime Minister Modi has announced that India will be launching a COVID-19 vaccine within the next few weeks. Prime Minister Modi expressed confidence in the work of the scientists and said, “Rollout of the vaccine will begin as soon as scientists wave the green flag.”
According to an article in The Times of India, PM Modi said, “India has developed a special software, Covin, in which beneficiaries and real time information about availability and storage of vaccine will be available.” He added that a special task force has been formed to coordinate with research experts and officers of each zone.
He also said that the vaccine will be prioritized for the health workers, the human resource involved in the treatment of COVID-19, the elderly and its patients. The chief ministers of every Indian state also held talks with the prime minister on how to make the vaccine available to Indian citizens at affordable prices.
