Namrata Shrestha crowned Miss Nepal 2020

Kathmandu. Namrata Shrestha has been crowned Miss Nepal 2020 after winning the grand finale organized at the Park Village Resort on Saturday.
Namrata was chosen from among the top 20 finalists and awarded the coveted crown, which automatically makes her Nepal’s entry for the next Miss World competition.
Likewise, Supriya Shrestha has been selected as ‘Miss Nepal Earth’ and the ‘Miss Nepal International’ award has been won by Sandhya Sharma this year.
For the final round, the jury told the six contestants to imagine being stone making ripples when thrown in a lake and asked what and how they would create revolutionary ripples in the lives of Nepali women. Namrata’s answer that she would work to uproot the evil of the dowry system in the tarai region empowering the girl child through education won her the award.
