108-year-old woman gets COVID-19 vaccine at home

Kathmandu, December 20. Mary Keir was one of the first elderly to get the Pfizer covid vaccine at an elderly care home in United Kingdom. She was four when the Spanish pandemic hit the country and is currently 108 years old.

In an article in BBC, she said, “I was really happy to have the vaccine, we’ve been waiting for it to be ready. Thank God for the people who have been able to get it for us. We’re very lucky.” She received the first jab of covid vaccine at a care home in Carmarthenshire, United Kingdom.

Ros Jervis, director of public health said, “This is not the start of the vaccine roll-out to all care home residents yet but being a part of this pilot will put us in a good place to start once learnings from the care home pilot has been captured.”
