Dissolved HoR not to be reinstated but re-formed after election: PM Oli

Kathmandu, Jan 8: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli said that the dissolved House of Representatives could be formed only after the election.

Addressing a public meeting in Dhangadhi, Oli claimed that the dissolution of the parliament was constitutional and would not be re-established under any conditions. He said, “Earlier, also supported the notion that  the  prime  minister should not be allowed to dissolve the parliament. However, I have recommended the dissolution of the parliament when my party has majority and destroys the working environment”.

Following the dissolution of the House of Representatives by the Prime Minister,  Executive Chairman Prachanda and Senior Leader Madhav Kumar Nepal have announced  street protests and claimed that the parliament  would be restored. A written petition has been filed in the Supreme Court alleging that the dissolution of the House of Representatives is unconstitutional.
