Nepal remembers Falgun 1 – the beginning of its deadliest war decade and 17,000 deaths

Kathmandu, February 13. For the first time, the Nepali government has declared a national public holiday to commemorate Nepal’s deadliest civil war. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ officially announced on Sunday that the Nepali people would mark the date “Falgun 1” for recognizing the contributions made by the People’s War in Nepal’s political transformation.
