China claims it will produce 610 million Covid-19 vaccines within 2020

China, claimed on Friday that it will produce at least 610 million vaccines by the end of this year. Nine different vaccines around the world are in the final stages of testing. Dozens of other vaccines are being tested around the world in the hope that scientists will be able to fight the deadly disease.
Over one million people have died from the Covid-19 infection worldwide. Chinese health officials at a news conference on Friday announced that “China is expected to produce about 610 million units of COVID-19 by the end of this year. The annual production capacity of the vaccine will reach at least one billion doses by next year.”
China has been testing hundreds of thousands of high-risk volunteers at ports, hospitals and high-risk areas since last July. The testing is being funded by the World Health Organization (WHO).
“So far, not all participants in the COVID-19 emergency vaccination program have shown serious adverse reactions,” said Zheng Zhongwei of the Chinese National Health Commission. He mentioned that it would take some time for WHO to give its full recognition to the vaccine’s potential. He also added that vaccines produced in China would be cheaper for the general public to get access to.
